Valve has made Steam’s Personal Calendar a permanent feature of the Steam Store, following its initial introduction through Steam Labs in October 2025.
The Personal Calendar uses a player’s most-played games to identify other Steam users with similar playtime histories. It then recommends games those users have been playing or adding to their wishlists, focusing on titles released recently or scheduled to launch within an eight-week period.
Unlike Steam’s existing recommendation sections, the calendar focuses specifically on new and upcoming releases. Its recommendations refresh daily, though individual suggestions may not change much unless a player’s habits shift or new release dates are confirmed.
Valve has also introduced several improvements since the feature entered testing, including additional filters for wishlisted games, Early Access titles, and downloadable content. Developers can now specify when their Early Access games are expected to reach version 1.0, allowing those releases to appear on the calendar.
On average, players click on more than 2,000 different games through the Personal Calendar in a 24-hour period. Also, it generates recommendations algorithmically.
