Activision Blizzard has marked Spyro Community Day with burn-away cakes and a sneak peek at Arcadian Vale in Spyro: A Realm Beyond, which is one of the earlier regions that you will explore in the upcoming game.
“Every September, Spyro fans around the world gather to celebrate the purple dragon that has inspired adventure and captured the imaginations of generations. This year, on Spyro Community Day, we celebrate all of you,” the publisher writes in a blog post.
“Your unwavering enthusiasm, passion, and creativity have helped to keep Spyro soaring through the years. Whether you’ve been here since the original trilogy, revisiting favorite moments in the Reignited Trilogy, sharing fan art, creating content, or introducing new players to Spyro’s world, this community has always been at the heart of the franchise. This year, we have even more reason to celebrate.”
The publisher continues: “To celebrate the fiery essence of Spyro and the joy of Community Day, special burn-away cakes were sent out to fans, creators, and press to help usher in the big day. What looks like an ordinary cake reveals more underneath the surface as it burns away. What could it be? Take a look at the sweet reveal in the video.”
Further to this, the publisher shared concept artwork for Arcadian Vale in Spyro: A Realm Beyond, to which it added: “Arcadian Vale captures the charm and wonder that defines Spyro’s new adventure. Made up of a calm, serene atmosphere, Arcadian Vale is a vibrant landscape filled with natural beauty. Across the scene are cascading waterfalls tumbling down from towering cliffs. Ancient stone structures and weathered monuments rise from the terrain while lush greenery blankets the valley floor, creating a destination that feels magical and alive.
“From curious critters to cheerful fodder creatures, no detail of Arcadian Vale is too small. Every corner captures the same sense of warmth, whimsy, and personality that fans have come to love and expect from Spyro and his universe. The Toys for Bob team have paid special attention to creating a charming world that feels inviting at every scale, all the way down to its smallest inhabitants.”
Toys for Bob is the developer behind the first original Spyro game in nearly 20 years, which will introduce “a brand new world, expanded exploration and new gameplay that evolve the classic experience in exciting ways.”
Tom Kenny returns to voice Spyro, and the iconic purple dragon will have the chance to explore, discover, and, for the first time, take flight in an experience that has looked to start a bold new era.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in Spring 2027.
